Thomas is snooring away having a nap, so I thought I would write a quick blog….. I’m a little concerned about his walking, or lack of at the moment! He is 17 months old today and he still uses crawling as his main way to get around. He has perfected the crawl, he charges like a bullet and can get to where he wants to go with ease. If he wants to carry a toy he will move on his knees so he can hold a toy in his hand. Thomas can walk, he is a little wobbly still but he can walk from one end of the room to the other, every night usually before bath Nathan and I clear away all the toys and then sit at either end of the room encouraging Thomas to walk between us. Thomas has  a big beaming smile on his face as he waddles up and down arms out to steady himself. All the babies of the same age I know from play groups and family are all walking already, Thomas is a big lad he’s never been a small baby which is may be why he’s not fully walking, but as a first time parent I am a little worried. I don’t know if this is normal, or how long I should leave it before getting him checked out?

I would appreciate any similar experiences anyone may have to put my mind at rest. I understand all kids are different their all individuals, but I would love to hear from anyone who has any similar experiences.

Thomas is moving about, I best sign off now thanks for reading xx

Today Nathan and I decided to take Thomas on a fun day at the Thomas the tank engine and friends day at the East Lancashire Railway. It was a fantastic day, all the trains were made up to represent Thomas the tank engine and his friends, they had activities, face painting, family fun and much more! Thomas loved the steam train, he was a little unsure at first with the noise from the steam train, but when it started to move he had such a big smile on his face. He kept making Choo Choo noises over and over, he loves watching Thomas the tank engine on the TV, seeing the engines live and up close was amazing to him! It was the first time Thomas has ever been on a train too so it was an extra special day, we loved seeing him enjoying himself  so much today.

After enjoying a full day at the east lancashire railway Thomas enjoyed a few hours with his nannie, my mum – Me and my mum had a good catch up, as we havn’t had much time to see eachother this bank holiday with one thing or another. Thomas enjoyed his fish pie tea at nannies and played with his toy cars on the wooden floor.

Nathan and I are just chilling now, its been a full on day! We left the house at 9am this morning and got home around 3pm – As were both tied we have treated ourselves to a takeaway and are watching the TV on the sofa. Thomas is fast asleep in his cot, he went to bed early tonight 6:30pm! He was tired from such an eventful day, I hope he is dreaming about his fun family day and how he is loved so much from his mamma and dadda :-)    xxx
